Very often we hear that sweets are harmful to children. However, this does not apply to all delicacies. Are there any healthy sweets that can be offered to a child without the risk of harm to his health?

Honey

Honey contains up to 60 biologically active nutrients. In winter, it helps fight colds. However, it is necessary to remember that honey should be given to school-age children together with other food - porridge, fruit or tea. It is also useful to use it with milk and kefir in moderation, add it to compotes and fruit purees, baked apples. It is advisable to use honey with sour juices, such as lemon or apple.

Dried fruits

Dried fruits contain a number of minerals - calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, iron. In addition, dried fruits are easy to satisfy hunger, so they are perfect for a snack. Offer your child compotes, purees or add some dried fruit to the porridge several times a day. Note that this should be dried fruit, not candied fruit. Their number may vary depending on the dish, but on average about 30 g per day.

Fruit jelly

Fruit jelly is a candy, but much more useful than chocolate. Marmalade contains pectins - nutrients contained in fruits. Pectins help lower blood cholesterol, improve the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, help remove toxins from the body. Most pectin in apples, plums, apricots, black currants. Therefore, the most useful marmalade is from these fruits. When buying marmalade, make sure that the package states that it contains pectin compounds.

Homemade ice cream

Homemade ice cream - what could be better ?! In the finished ice cream you can add nuts, dried fruits or pieces of fresh fruit, cocoa. It all depends on your imagination!

Lozenges and marshmallows

This delicacy, like marmalade, contains pectins that help detoxify the body. Lozenges or marshmallows are useful to eat no more than 20 g per day. But when buying these delicacies in the store, be sure to check whether they do not contain dyes, preservatives, flavors and more.

What else can replace candy?

Fruits and vegetables are a great alternative to sweets. Pumpkin or carrot slices, apples, pears, tangerines, oranges, figs - useful treats to replace candy.
